Linux Mint 13 with MATE desktop, 64 bit
I have the evolution 3.2.3 software with its email client configured
to send and receive emails. When an email arrives, I can see the
visual notification in the bottom right corner of MATE desktop.
No sound is played however, although it is set in the preferences to
be played.
The missing sound notification is always the case with my Mint
desktop. My previous OS on the same machine was Ubuntu 11.04. In those
times, the evolution (an older version) was playing a sound when an
email arrived.
