Title:
[quantal][regression] googleearth 3d graphics don't work with nvidia
GeForce4 card
Status in mesa package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
After upgrade to quantal, which I believe caused an upgrade in mesa
from 8.x to 9.0, I can no longer use googleearth. Previously, it
worked pretty well using the mesa DRI driver. The only problems were
that borders sometimes showed through the earth from over the horizon,
and it was necessary to turn off the atmosphere display. After the
upgrade, from any altitude the surface of the globe appears as large
rectangles, sometimes with various more or less triangular shapes.
See attached screen shot.
I tried this first with both libgl1-mesa-dri and libgl1-mesa-dri-
experimental installed. I then removed libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental,
powered off and rebooted. It didn't make a difference.
My graphics card is:
