When I log out and immediately log back in, my monitor configuration changes and now both monitors are mirroring the same content. I have to hit Command-P to get them to switch back to the non-mirrored configuration they were displaying immediately before I logged out. This happens consistently, every time I log out and log back in. The monitor configuration should be preserved when I log out and log back in.
