Public bug reported:
I was running apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade
on a friend's ubuntu system (Trusty). The system had not been updated in
a long time, so the list of packages to be downloaded was huge (~500MB
for updates and ~300MB for upgrades) and due to a slow internet
connection, I had left it overnight to download. The updates were over
by the time I slept, the upgrades had been downloaded by the time I woke
up.
When I woke up, the setup was stuck on various fglrx configuration files
on the system which it determined had been changed, and wanted to know
whether to keep the original files or update with new ones. I chose to
keep the original files. Mid-way through the installation, apport popped
up saying an error had occured. The script in the terminal went on
running, but once I clicked on "Report Problem..." on the apport window,
the script displayed an error regarding fglrx (but continued running
till the end, after which it said "errors were encountered while
processing: fglrx" and then stopped).
