Public bug reported:
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System ->
About Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Release: 16.04
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or
by checking in Software Center
xserver-xorg-video-nouveau:
Installiert: 1:1.0.12-1build2
Installationskandidat: 1:1.0.12-1build2
Versionstabelle:
*** 1:1.0.12-1build2 500
500 http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
3) What you expected to happen
If in power options I have defined the laptop to go to suspend mode when laptop
lid is closed, I would expect it to do exactly that.
4) What happened instead
Nothing happened - the laptop remains on while the display switches off. I then
tried the nvidia binary driver (361.42). For both GPU selections made in nvidia
x server settings, Intel and nvidia, the laptop suspended few seconds after
closing the lid. When I switched back to X.Org-X-Server the problem was back
again.
