please check the attached screenshot
I have a wifi network configured with wep.
The left side windows in the screenshot show the wifi network configured with
the wep key
when the machine boots up, I click on the network manager icon and select
"Connect to hidden wireless network". Select the network from the connection
drop down. The connect button stays disabled probably because the key shows up
blank. see the right side of the screenshot
