This is correct behaviour. The X server window loses focus, not the X app inside it.
Your app would lose focus correctly if Unity8 used Xmir properly with -rootless. I appreciate Unity8's still not ready for that (bug 1543467) so will implement another workaround in Xmir. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Daniel van Vugt (vanvugt) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1582471 Title: Add focus/unfocus event passing for Xmir non-rootless mode Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Add focus/unfocus event passing for non-rootless mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1582471/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
