Unfortunately, we don't support downgrades. You'll find that Banshee
isn't the only program that doesn't downgrade properly, and that's
normal. I had issues when sharing my /home with ArchLinux as well, some
time in the past.

** Changed in: banshee (Ubuntu)
       Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix

Title:
  banshee dies violently when initiated with a newer database

Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  Here's what I get when launching banshee. I tested 11.10 on a separate
  partition, hence my banshee database was updated in version.... is
  this really the desired behaviour when I try to use it again in my
  trusted OS?

Banshee.Database.BansheeDbFormatMigrator+DatabaseVersionTooHigh: This version
of Banshee was prepared to work with older database versions (=< 43) thus it is
too old to support the current version of the database (44).
