may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported version of Firefox.

Title:
Firefox 38.0 packaged for Trusty Tahr is leading to memory overflow
and higher CPU usage
Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Memory overflow and higher CPU usage happened twice in two situations:
1. When application started, with just the tiled page and a local help
file "file:///usr/share/doc/python3.4/html/library/index.html" pinned;
2. After opening some tabs with some bookmarked/recent visited pages
in the tiles.
In less than a minute opened, it was noticed the lack of responsiveness.
After a quick check in the System Monitor process list (screen shot
attached), Firefox was taking 4.5GB RAM and using 25% CPU (a dedicated core).
