Title:
Plugging a USB drives makes a "Software Updates Available"
  notification appear

Status in gnome-software package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This is a very strange issue and I'm not sure what package is
concerned here. When I plug my USB hard drive, a notification about
available Software Updates appears. It seems that this notification is
displayed only once per session and as long as updates are actually
available but the behavior is consistent, I'll see this notification
the second I plug my hard drive in.

Since those two things are completely unrelated, it is very unsettling
and I wonder what could be causing it. I haven't noticed anything like
this before 16.04 and I haven't noticed this behavior on my desktop
computer, only on my laptop (but I don't use my USB HDD as often on my
desktop so I'll have to double check).
