To reproduce this bug we need Firefox 47 and Cantarell regular as UI font. My system is a Ubuntu 16.04 which was "converted" to Ubuntu Gnome installing ubuntu-gnome-desktop package. I remember everything was fine with Firefox 46. Switching the UI font to Ubuntu regular fixes the problem as well. Other applications work fine: gtk2, gtk3, qt...
