I'm also experiencing this problem on Oneiric, though no space is kept for the icon.

The space for it is still there, but there is no icon and I cannot interact with it. nm-applet is still running. If I remove notification-area and add it back again, the icon is restored. When this happens, it looks like there is a 1-px line just to the right of the notification area grabber. Not sure if that is related to this problem or not. Please let me know what additional information I can provide. gnome-panel 1:2.30.2-1ubuntu3 network-manager-gnome 0.8.1+git.20100809t190028.290dc70-0ubuntu3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/660934/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
