Title:
Unable to use Nvidia proprietary drivers on Secureboot system
Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers-361 package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Hi,
I did a clean installation of Ubuntu 16.04. Once complete and updates
applied, I then specified the Nvidia proprietary drivers (currently
version 361). I was able to install, then reboot, but kept getting
stuck at the login screen.
Research indicates that in order to use Nvidia drivers, I have to
disable Secure Boot. Since I also have Windows 10 installed, UEFI (ie.
Secure Boot) is a mandatory requirement and cannot be disabled.
I will not be able to use Ubuntu 16.04 until such time as this issue
is fixed.
I am reporting this as a security issue, since Secure Boot is a
requirement for my system.
Thanks!
