This does not seem like a duplicate of bug #783827, which deals with the layout
not being set correctly or being reset upon logout. Maybe the two bugs are
related, and I do experience both, but this bug deals with there simply being
no interface at all to set the layout in the greeter. How are we to tell what
layout the keyboard is even in prior to typing in our password?
At the very least, an indicator should be added the password field to remind us
what layout is currently set, even if we can't change it yet.

Title:
LightDM doesn’t support per-user keyboard layout

Status in Light Display Manager:
  New
Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
This is a major regression over GDM, since having to type your
password with another layout is really a PITA.

Especially with mixed dvorak/non-dvorak users which have totally
  different keyboard layouts.
