Bug description:
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with xserver-xorg-lts-utopic and linux-generic-lts-
utopic installed to even make touchpad work. The system can run for
days without any problems, but sooner or later a spontaneous segfault
will happen and return to the login screen.

the eventual segfault:
