Dear Gunnar, Yes, indeed this was the case.
I tried to create my startup files manually in that file directory without using the GUI. And now it seems that these entries are persistent. I don't really understand what the underlying issue is. I will test this for several days more and see if anything changes! Thanks for all your help so far! -Robert -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1619867 Title: Changes to Startup Application Preferences not being remembered in Ubuntu Unity 16.04 Status in gnome-session package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Dear all, I am using Ubuntu Unity 16.04. If I add a new entry to "Startup Application Preferences", this entry does no longer exist after reboot. The entry: /bin/bash -c "sleep 15 && python3 /path/to/show_state.py" What could be the reason for the entry not being saved properly?
