Alberto Salvia Novella, I think the title of the this report is not
reflective of the original problem. From what I see, Simple Scan doesn't
actually crash, but has a standard communication issue with the scanner.
Hence, Simple Scan doesn't crash, or there would be a file in
/var/crash. I'll adjust the title to reflect what is actually being
experienced.

Bug description:
  I have an AIO Epson Stylus Office tx300f mutifunctional printer who
  has scanning function.

  I was scanning a text. The Simple Scan software was working correctly
  so, when I ordered to stop the scan, effectively the scanner stopped.
  But the reader-bar of the scanner didn't move to idle position.

  When I tried to do a new scan, Simple Scan stopped. Then it began
  loading the preview for an undefined time, until it appears a message
  telling that no scanner is available as per
