This bug seems to affect my Dell XPS L521X Ubuntu laptop running
Ubuntu Xenial 16.04:

My headphone jack simply does not work with 16.04.
It worked just fine with 14.04.
I ran the following command to look at my audio packages:
$ sudo apt list > apt_list_20160912.txt ; cat
