The packages I mentioned in comment #1 are incompatible with Ubuntu's
licence - see http://www.ubuntu.com/about/about-ubuntu/licensing
However, users are free to ignore the licence conditions on their own
machines.

Title:
firefox unable to play h264 video
Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Firefox on a fresh install of 15.04 is unable to play h264 video.
Totem and chrome have no problem. youtube.com/html5 says your browser
does not support h264, mse, or vp9. As a result, some videos on
youtube can not play in firefox ( but are fine in chrome ).
