Public bug reported:
The internal microphone on this T410 works.
I have a splitter cable in order to use the combo audio jack with a
dedicated external microphone. This setup works on a Windows7
installation.
When viewing the information in sound settings in xubuntu, I have
Internal Microphone
Microphone (Unplugged)
Dock Microphone (Unplugged)
The internal Microphone works as expected, gains controllable.
When I select Microphone (Unplugged), with my external microphone
connected, I don't appear to get an output. However, if I tap the
screen, where the internal Mic is, the volume levels are off the chart.
If I unplug the external microphone, the same result can be observed.
It appears both 'Internal Mic', and 'Microphone (Unplugged)' are
grabbing audio from the same source (The internal microphone), just
applying a different gain to it.
