Title:
"Disks" can't erase data in a Memory Card

Status in gnome-disk-utility package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
"Disks" app can't erase data in a Memory Card. So I can't format FAT16
Memory card to another format. GParted also doesn't know how to format
FAT16. "Overwrite existing data with zeroes (Slow)" doesn't work at
  all.
