Public bug reported:
The device is WinTV HVR-900 (actually Elgato EyeTV Hybrid). It has an
additional dongle with Composite, S-Video and stereo audio inputs.
lsusb:
Bus 002 Device 006: ID 2040:6502 Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900
I use it together with TVTime, pavucontrol and module-loopback and it
generally works well (barring bug #1637817 which I reported earlier
today), provided sound is plugged into the computer's line-in input. I'd
really like to make it work with the tuner's input, however.
When connected, it appears in pavucontrol and can be configured as
Analog Stereo Input, and in Input Devices I can select Line In or Video.
Selecting either makes no difference: most times there's no sound at
all, sometimes sound appears, but it's distorted (a bit like an echo
together with overdrive). I'll try to make it work (plugging/unplugging
the tuner, restarting pulseaudio usually makes it work after a few
times) and post a sample.
Interestingly, the volume slider in Input Devices in pavucontrol has no
effect at all; sound level remains constant.
