Public bug reported:

After upgrading to 16.10 Thunderbird takes ages (very long) to start up.
Under 16.04 it opened almost immediately, now it takes 30s - 1m before
being functional.

After login or reboot, the first attempt to launch Thunderbird
terminates after seconds. The second attempt succeeds but with above
described problems.

Recently, a black window bar obscures the Mail clients main window.
After being removed (close or move makes the window disappear) every other time
(startup) a reply to messages is not possible. The icon buttons in the window
bar do not respond. Reply to a message is impossible.
