no network access

Bug description:
installed ubuntu 16.10 fresh, and the new version of nautilus is rather
broken.
- No network is accessable via smb://xxx/
- Missing option to create blank text file in right click menu (on desktop
only?)
- Text under icon view is broken
- Network places is not showing up in nautilus left bar
