My account name in the internal jabber of my work is "aldo@hostname". It used to work in previous releases. In 11.10, I had to add ".company.com" to it to be able to create the account in Empathy. This regex is too restrictive.

Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Trying to create a Jabber account "[email protected]". Continue button is disabled, if I add another symbol between "@" and ".", e.g. "[email protected]", the button is enabled, but the restriction is pointless for I need the first one and totally don't need the latter. The same thing happens if one creates an account and then tries to edit it in the described way. See screenshot.
