Title:
Unity control center fails to rebind keys
Status in unity-control-center package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
A variety of predefined keys used by unity cannot be rebound.
(Super+t, Super+w, pretty much anything used by Unity)
If the user tries to rebind the keys using the unity-control-center ->
keyboard -> shortcuts dialog, the keybindings will not function.
The dialog should at least prevent the user from rebinding these keys.
There is a workaround for binding the keys which involves digging
around in compizconfig-settings-manager for the guilty keybinding. (
http://askubuntu.com/questions/34145/can-i-define-keyboard-shortcuts-
using-the-super-key )
Ideally, the control center should interface with unity to allow
binding the keys, there shouldn't be a separate configuration app.
