I have several HDDs and mostly I use only one of them at every single moment. The problem is that ALL HDDs are working automatically when the PC starts. (I can hear them working even if the SATA port is disabled by the motherboard.) This not only wears down the HDDs, but also produces a lot of noise which shouldn't happen because that most of them aren't being used. It would be very helpful if Ubuntu would send a "Sleep State" command to all mechanical HDDs upon startup.
