Is there any browser available on Ubuntu which does not have this issue? I experienced this with Chrome and tried Firefox, only to find out it's just as bad (FF 51.01 64bit on Ubuntu 16.04.2).

Reboot sign in and start Firefox goto youtube.com and watch any video start xterm(1) run top(1) you will always see plugin-container near or at top or let system sit for a while or overnight # ps -ef | less look at the "TIME" field or you could use # ps -ef | sort -t: -nr -k3 | head -1 to see it sorted by TIME field and for me this is returned: dan 17148 15252 27 13:36 ? 00:59:04 /usr/lib/firefox /plugin-container /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so -greomni /usr/lib/firefox/omni.ja -appomni /usr/lib/firefox/browser/omni.ja -appdir /usr/lib/firefox/browser 15252 true plugin And this program far out strips all other programs using CPU TIME, also it is causing a slight load.
