Title:
  No networks shown after turning wifi off/on

Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  After switching the wifi off and on again, wireless networks are not
  displayed any more in the network manager applet. However, my PC
  connects to the network. Sidenote: also showing the wrong connection
  symbol - the one that is used for Ethernet connections instead of wifi
  -> see attached screenshot

  My system is running a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04.2, also had this problem
with 16.04.1
  Network manager is version  1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.3
