Actually, I was using the wrong password for my nextCloud. It works now. So I'll repeat the response I got from the epiphany developer:
"Do you have HTTP auth that's not working? Or is it the nextCloud password prompt? Any errors in the web inspector? I have no problems logging into nextcloud.igalia.com, so I'm going to need a URL with a test username/password as a reproducer please. Anyway, I bet you get the same results in MiniBrowser and that this is a WebKit issue, right?" You can access the MiniBrowser by running /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/webkit2gtk-4.0/MiniBrowser Does logging in work in a different web browser? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1673205 Title: owncloud / nextcloud can't login Status in Epiphany Browser: Unknown Status in epiphany-browser package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: After typing user and password, Epiphany does nothing and asks again for credentials.
