Title:
"Dummy Output" audio after latest Maverick update

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pulseaudio

After the latest "daily" Ubuntu update (Ubuntu 1.10) my I lost my
audio output. I see the "Dummy Output" thing.

FWIW, when I attempt to play audio I see the output *levels* changing
  in the volume controls.
