Title:
Microphone resets to full volume after reboot

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Sound:

"when you plug in a microphone, input volume should be the same as
when you last used a microphone, even if Ubuntu has restarted since
  then."
