If you go into the "System Monitor", select "PulseAudio", right-click and select "Stop Process" and then click "Continue Process", the problem goes away until next time. It happens at random. I find this problem is most likely to happen when clicking the time bar to watch the video at a specific time or replaying the video. It only happens on HTML5 videos. By chance I found that stopping and starting PulseAudio is a temporary "fix" each time this sound skipping occurs. Since I prefer HTML5 to Flash, for obvious reasons ;) I now watch more HTML5 videos. I have joined the HTML5 trial on YouTube, which means most videos are in HTML5 instead of Flash: www.youtube.com/html5 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: pulseaudio 1:0.9.22+stable-queue-24-g67d18-0ubuntu3.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-13.55-generic 2.6.38.8 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-13-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23.
