Title:
Random Mute
Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Pulseaudio randomly mutes the sound, and unmutes it after a random
delay.
Steps to reproduce:
- Hear some music
- Wait a while (sorry, no better correlation with other events)
- Sound is muted
- keep the music playing, after a while sound is unmuted again
Happens since at least oneiric and is still present in quantal.
Workaround:
- When sound is muted, unplug the speakers from the audio-jack, and plug it
in again.
- the sound is instantly unmuted, until the next random mute.
If you cannot fix the bug, please provide at least some workaround to
unmute it by software instead of unplugging stuff behind the PC.
