No error message on firmware update fail

Bug description:
While on battery, i tried to install bios firmware from Ubuntu
Software. Clicking "install" in the update tab grayed it out for a
second, and then restored back to being clickable. I tried it several
times without any failure notifications, but it was clearly not doing
anything. Rebooting several times also didn't help. Finally, in the
system log, I noticed this error, explaining the issue. This error
should have been shown to me in UI, without the need to go into the
logs.
