This is simply a bug: the layout switching does not work in gnome screensaver. It uses the last layout that was used before locking. This makes it very difficult or even impossible to type your password if it is not your usual layout.

I can switch between layouts but it doesn't matter which layout I use for password as the system accepts it anyway. For example, I can type my password without switching layout and it will be accepted in any case not depending on current layout. But if I type the part of my password and then switch layout the system discards it. 1. Why there's layout indicator if it doesn't matter which type of layout I use? 2. How can I set the password in different layout? I think there should be clear influence of the current layout because a user can set the password using different layout. Another solution is to remove layout indicator and not to allow switching of keyboard layout.
