The thing is that the scroll bar doesn`t appear when I firt start Gwibber, thus the mouse scroll wheel doesn`t work. Changing to the messages pane and then back at the home pane made the scroll bar on the right appear again, which made the mouse scroll wheel scroll the window as expected.
