Have the same issue. Also using Ubuntu 17.10 with nvidia 384.90 driver. Happens for me in Day of Infamy and Insurgency. I need to go to video settings and set to windowed or borderless and back to fullscreen in order to play the game in full screen again. Or just quit and relaunch it.
