Title:
unable to login on lowlatency kernel with nvidia binary driver

Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
After upgrading from 17.04 to 17.10 everything worked fine until I
wanted to change the gpu from intel to nvidia, I purged all of the
nvidia packages, reinstalled them and tried to prime-select nvidia but
unfortunately It didn't work until I switched to the generic kernel
  and reinstalled the drivers again.

After choosing the nvidia drivers I couldnt even log in in a different TTY It
was constantly changing it to the deault one on the lowlatency kernel.
