Also, your getting the direction didn't actually effect the program at all since you did the same thing for both the if (dir == PANGO_DIRECTION_LTR) part and the else part. But all that said, there was no adjustment needed. Pango does the right thing with the positioning, and the return value is more informative than anything in this specific case. For example, put some text (let's say 5 lines of text) in textarea and start moving cursor using cursor keys. When the cursor is in the middle of line and you move it up, then it shouldn't skip to the first column of text like it does now...this makes editing of text rather uncomfortable. I have also noticed that the bug is gone in latest firefox builds.
