Hello, I don't immediately see how a malicious actor could influence how
this works.
Could you please file a bug with Mozilla and link the bug report here?
Thanks

Title:
firefox changes command line url
Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
ubuntu 16.04
I have a local server on 192.168.2.200 named prometheus
if I try in terminal:
firefox http://192.168.2.200/index.html
the page opens ok. If I try:
firefox http://prometheus/index.html
then firefox never tries to open the page but tries:
firefox http://www.prometheus.com/index.html
I found that:
firefox -url http://prometheus/index.html
runs ok, but I think this is a strange behaviour and probably a security bug.
