After googling about that error, i have deleted
~/.config/chromium/default/Extension State
Then with the next reboot, a new 'Extension State' folder has been created, and
the previous error is not logged when using many opened tabs. Also there is
less memory eaten & less hdd scanning.

note: the old & new 'Extension State' folders have the same rights; so
the previous error seems mysterious.

Title:
Run out of file descriptors with opened tabs > ~12,15

Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This is not a recent issue: googling around
"ERROR:value_store_frontend.cc(58)" show that error have been met
several years ago on multiple distro, not only ubuntu.

This append with a gnome-shell & wayland session when chromium have at
least 12 opened tabs, and scrolling url with many images (like with
  thumblr.com).

Journalctl is filed with errors like:
  "chromium-browser.desktop[2255]:
[2255:4906:1026/040419.151932:ERROR:value_store_frontend.cc(58)] Error while
writing gjieilkfnnjoihjjonajndjldjoagffm.browser_action to" which means that
file descriptors limit has been reached.
With such a case, gnome-shell is freezing until the hdd activity slowdown to
normal. Prior all the 4 Gb ram is used and the swap partition is also widely
used. This is not expected, ram & swap should be firstly needed by the active
tab, not for all the opened ones. Something have to be better programed there.

Is there a way to set file descriptor limit on the user side ?
