Zotac GeForce GTX 1070 AMP! Extreme Edition Xid: 31 => memory page fault ... does not occur in Firefox - only in chromium since upgrade to flash 28.0.0.126 breaks compositing - need to log out and may break other GL dependant apps but for me it doesnt - just kwin_x11 cant composite anymore neither via GUI nor DBUS commands - even it says openGLisBroken is false and it can composite it doesnt toggle/activate compositing. Only way to get compositing back in this session is running "kwin_x11 --replace &> /dev/null &" and thats not very intuitive for every user. lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 17.04 # NOTE Kubuntu Release: 17.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.10.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.38.0 Qt Version: 5.7.1 Kernel Version: 4.10.0-42-generic OS Type: 64-bit Hardware Processors: 16 x AMD Ryzen 7 1700x Eight-Core Processor Memory: 31,4 GiB of RAM apt-cache policy chromium-browser chromium-browser: Installed: 63.0.3239.84-0ubuntu0.17.04.1 Candidate: 63.0.3239.84-0ubuntu0.17.04.1 Version table: *** 63.0.3239.84-0ubuntu0.17.04.1 500 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-updates/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-security/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 57.0.2987.98-0ubuntu1.1348 500 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty/universe amd64 Packages apt-cache policy flashplugin-installer flashplugin-installer: Installed: 28.0.0.126ubuntu0.17.04.1 Candidate: 28.0.0.126ubuntu0.17.04.1 Version table: *** 28.0.0.126ubuntu0.17.04.1 500 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-updates/multiverse amd64 Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-security/multiverse amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 25.0.0.148ubuntu1 500 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty/multiverse amd64 Packages apt-cache policy pepperflashplugin-nonfree pepperflashplugin-nonfree: Installed: 1.8.3+nmu1ubuntu1 Candidate: 1.8.3+nmu1ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1.8.3+nmu1ubuntu1 500 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty/multiverse amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status apt-cache policy kwin kwin: Installed: 4:5.10.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.04~ppa1 Candidate: 4:5.10.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.04~ppa1 Version table: *** 4:5.10.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.04~ppa1 500 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu zesty/main amd64 Packages 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu zesty/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 4:5.9.5-0ubuntu0.1 500 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-updates/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-updates/universe i386 Packages 4:5.9.5-0ubuntu0.1~ubuntu17.04~ppa1 500 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu zesty/main amd64 Packages 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu zesty/main i386 Packages 4:5.9.4-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty/universe i386 Packages apt-cache policy nvidia-384 nvidia-384: Installed: 384.90-0ubuntu0.17.04.2 Candidate: 384.90-0ubuntu0.17.04.2 Version table: *** 384.90-0ubuntu0.17.04.2 500 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-updates/restricted amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 384.90-0ubuntu0.17.04.1 500 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-security/restricted amd64 Packages So chromium didn't update its flash player from 27.0.0.130 so but Firefox did .. got frustrated and reinstalled chromium and pepperflash-nonfree which actually upgraded the version but now when launching Chromium - the GPU has a memory page fault ... So KWin Compositing is unusable after launching chromium now - I need to logout or shoot down X11 to get compositing back (I am on a Ryzen System and had this problem before with a different driver) - I wished everything would finally work and compositing stayed on. Only way to get compositing back in this session is running "kwin_x11 --replace &> /dev/null &" and thats not very intuitive for every user. ** Affects: chromium-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- chromium with flash 28.0.0.126 + NVIDIA driver 384.90 crash and disable kwin_x11 compositing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1738207 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
