Curious, what are the upstream changes you are referring to.. I moved on fron rhythmbox a decade ago because of lack of development, and responsiveness to issues like this, has something changed?

At the moment I download audio podcasts with rhythmbox and video podcasts with the now unsupported ipodder. I would like to get my video podcasts via rhythmbox also. I appreciate that rhythmbox is not a video player, but it is a podcast downloader, and the mechanism for downloading an audio podcast doesn't differ from a video one. Indeed rhythmbox does actually download video podcasts but marks them as "failed". If you double click an audio podcast it plays, if you double click a video podcast (that has already downloaded, but is tagged as failed) it starts downloading again. So... Could you please allow rhythmbox to download video podcasts without marking them as failed? Could rhythmbox transfer video podcasts to an iPod video? Could rhythmbox please kick off the default media player (totem?) when a video podcast is double clicked? Not sure if these are all separate wishlists or bugs. If so I can break them up.
