When running Rhythmbox, no sound is produced when a music file is
"played".
I get a thump sound from the OS and a pop-up message saying " Couldn't
start playback - Failed to link GStreamer pipeline; check your
installation"
I have tried purging and re-installing but the same problem continues.
When I start Rhythmbox from the terminal, I get this message:
