Public bug reported:
A few months after upgrading to Ubuntu 16.04, my graphics card stopped
working. I got a black screen after booting. I was able to work around
that problem, and then around the problem of losing my external display
when I closed my laptop lid, so I can now boot normally and have only
one problem - I still only have software rendering, which isn't up to
the job.
I checked my graphics card and it was on the list of fully supported
versions. I found work-arounds online for my other problems, but no way
to fix this one, which results in choppy video with audio out of sync.
I trust the apport report which should be attached will give you the
specs you need.
Thanks.
