Title:
Displays -> Could not get screen information

Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
After suffering a login-loop bug (which I fixed with "mv .Xauthority
  .Xauthority.bak") my screen settings disappeared.

When I attempted to reset them I could no-longer access my Display
  Settings.

Instead of my normal display settings I got: Could not get screen
  information
