It sounds like this bug was from before 17.10 was finished and released.
Do you still experience the problem?

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  After applying the latest update the Software-center now opens but
  still has a problem.

  For the Launch pad, software center, in Ubuntu 17.10 it reports this error 
when trying to open it.
  "Sorry something went wrong GDBus, error: freedesktop.DBus.error. unknown 
Method: No such
  interface` org.gnome.Shell.Extensions on object at path /org/gnome/shell".

  Some of the links to the software doesn't work.
  Some of the buttons of categories doesn't work.
  Updates never show "software to be updated" anymore
