  gnome-control-center crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()
  attempting to connect to hidden wi-fi ssid

  Was running on ethernet. Opened system settings, clicked on wi-fi
  menu, selected Connect to Hidden Network. After 10-15 seconds of
  displaying the menu with no discernible response, settings window
  disappeared.
