This is a typo in the file(1) utility.

** Package changed: seahorse (Ubuntu) => file (Ubuntu)

** Summary changed:

- seahorse documentation should specify encryption used for protecting the
passwords
+ typo in magic file for gnome-keyring (AEL vs. AES)

** Bug watch added: Global Wire Oy Mantis #153

Title:
typo in magic file for gnome-keyring (AEL vs. AES)

Status in Seahorse:
  New
Status in “file” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: seahorse

I cannot find any information about the encryption algorithm used to protect
the stored passwords. The only hint about any real encryption is output of
  $ file ~/.gnome2/keyrings/login.keyring
[...] GNOME keyring, major version 0, minor version 0, crypto type 0 (AEL)
[...]

Where is the AEL encryption documented? I guess that this is not just
  a typo for AES...
